The territory proposed here is the result of a complex entanglement where the invisible elements of our daily spaces meet those we are well known, where the imaginary unfolds in the real, and where the image oscillates between present, past and future.

 

This thin web of oppositions (visible-invisible, architecture-body, matter-transparency, past-present) that causes relevant shifts in perception is relative to a singular practice, which founds the work of the artist.

Festival of photography and contemporary image

 

The 9PH festival is born of a reflection around the photography of reality where the so-called documentary image. Despite the mutations of both the medium and the topics, the stakes of this photographic style are the documentation of the world, the need to archive time to witness the world as it is. The 9PH festival seeks to explore the potential of current photography, its purpose and representations, to identify its limits and to anticipate future directions. The festival also aims to popularize the problematic related to the contemporary image and aims to enlarge the understanding of the concept of image that can not be limited to the photographic medium. The 2018 edition will bring together exhibitions, a conference and workshops on the theme Frontiers proposed to the various participating structures in the Lyon metropolis.
